PluggedIn 2024 Recap

Earlier this month (February 17), we held our 2nd annual networking event for black entrepreneurs and creators, and it was a blast (if we do say so ourselves)! From speed networking to insightful discussions, the event was a hub of inspiration and collaboration.

Event highlights

Speed networking

We kicked off with a round of speed-networking among the attendees. Guests were provided helpful ice-breakers on their event card to help them get comfortable making new connections.

Live podcast show

Our founder, Nina Barango then sat down with digital creator, brand consultant, and public speaker, Tosin Adeniyi to discuss her journey as a full-time entrepreneur and creator. She shared valuable tips on building strong relationships with clients and being strategic with brand partnerships, while answering questions sent in from the audience.

Q&A Panel session

Next up, we had a thought-provoking panel session featuring four panelists: Alma Rex-Ezonfade, Efosa Obano, Tosin Olaniyi, and Tehilah Abakasanga. The diverse expertise brought by each panelist sparked discussions on entrepreneurship, creativity, and overcoming challenges when trying to scale your brand. It was an interactive session, attendees were able to ask questions and gained valuable insights from the panel.

Partners and Vendors

PluggedIn 2024 wouldn't have been the same without the support of its partners and vendors. Bitesbox and Spyce Bowl provided delightful small chops and bowls of peppersoup while Mocktails by Sam provided a variety of drinks, ensuring attendees were fueled throughout the event. Attendees also received a complimentary gift bag, featuring a Networking Journal by Tosin Adeniyi for continued inspiration, a Bare Skin gift card for a touch of self-care, and a mini banana bread loaf courtesy of Treats Royale.

Closing remarks

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to the inspiring speakers who shared their wisdom, the dedicated partners and vendors who contributed to the vibrant atmosphere, and our enthusiastic attendees who made the event a resounding success. The connections forged and lessons learned at PluggedIn 2024 will undoubtedly resonate in the hearts and minds of all who participated.

See you next year for PluggedIn 2025!
